However, if the mattress is left uncleaned, various stains will grow and it will be in a very bad condition. Here you will get information on how to clean your mattress and how to remove mould and stains.

Many people should clean their mattress by themselves. If you don’t keep the stained mattress clean, you will feel depressed and the air in the bedroom will be bad.

Here, I will share my ideas on how to clean a mattress, which you cannot normally do even if you try to clean it. Please apply to it.

Methods to Clean Mattress

The mattresses are very big that they can’t be put in the washing machine. Besides, it is difficult to wash with water, and I can’t think of a way to dry it. If it gets dirty, you should have dealt with it by replacing it with buy new one.

But, mattresses can be cleaned regularly if you remember the tricks to get a stain-free mattress. Here, we will include methods of how to clean the mattress for each condition. Please check it out.

1. Vacuum the Mattress

Mattresses can be easily cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. First of all, most of the dirt on the mattress is mainly dust and dead bugs.

I don’t think it’s common to sleep directly on a mattress, it’s not very breathable, and it’s easy for bugs to collect there.

If the bodies and dust of these mites are ignored, they may hurt your body, so it is important to use a vacuum cleaner regularly to clean Mattress. Mattresses often have a stitched design, so use vacuum slowly not only vertically but also use it horizontally to remove dust well.

 2. Kill mites and moulds with a futon dryer

As mentioned above, many mites and moulds may have adhered to the mattress. Cleaning with a vacuum cleaner is also an insect, but if you think that there are still living things, and you will not feel comfortable sleeping. Therefore, the option is to try using a futon dryer on the mattress.

A futon dryer is not a dryer of that size, but a short size dryer. In general, hot air can be given to the futon, and the heat kills mites and moulds. Many types have the effect of removing moisture, and as a result, mites and moulds can be stopped from breeding.

However, it should be noted here that after killing mites and moulds with a futon dryer, their living does not disappear. The bottom line is that after killing, the dead mites and moulds remain on the mattress.

So, it is important to vacuum the entire mattress completely with a vacuum cleaner after using the futon dryer.

  3. Clean the stains on the mattress by soaking them in a towel

Many children eat and drink on the mattress. As a result, the mattress stained, and such troubles tend to happen.

This is an emergency action in such a case, but you can use a towel to remove some dirt. However, the point is not to use a towel that is still dry but to use a towel that has been applied once and pressed tightly.

Then, bring the towel in that state close to the stain and remove the stain by tapping it. If it’s just getting dirty, this method will clean it to some space, but if it’s been a while or it’s very dirty, you’ll need to wipe it off with a cloth moistened with a mild detergent.

Don’t forget to dry both sides with a dry towel after they are clean.

4. Sprinkle baking soda on the mattress and leave it

Many people want to make their mattresses cleaner. If true, everyone would want to put it in the washing machine and wash it with water. But that’s silly.

First, prepare a bag of commercially available layers. After completely removing dust and dirt from the mattress with a vacuum cleaner, sprinkle the layers on the baking soda on the mattress. Sprinkle it on the whole and leave it for a whole day.

The multi-layer has not only a deodorizing effect but also a function of adsorbing stains and dirt. I’m surprised that stains that couldn’t be removed easily can be removed the next day by making them lie in layers overnight. Of course, use a vacuum cleaner to remove the layers.

5. Lift the Mattress to Air

Due to the nature of mattresses, moisture tends to grow, and it is thought that many mites and moulds grow on them. As I mentioned in the futon dryer, it is thought that “the mattress becomes dry due to the high temperature, and as a result, it becomes difficult for mites and mould to increase.”

Therefore, “the mattress needs to be kept dry regularly”. A good way to do this is to lift the mattress to air. During the rainy season when the moisture is high, if you leave it in a night sweats state for a week, mould may grow in a blink of an eye.

Just leaning the mattress against the wall indoors makes a big difference. Of course, please note that it is unimportant unless it is in a well-ventilated and dry place.

It is also good to take this opportunity to quickly save the entire dust and mite bodies with a handy type of vacuum cleaner on both sides of the mattress.
